  • With the rapid spread of the delta variant , Los Angeles County has reported that they have seen more than 10,000 cases (during the week of 7/19/2021); this level has not been recorded since March
  • According to health officials, the unvaccinated population is at the highest risk which pressured them to reinforce restrictions

Further evacuations prompted California fails to contain wildfire

  • A fire in Lake Tahoe, California has now blocked more roads and prompted officials to announce further evacuationsĀ 
  • As of 7/20, the Tamarack Fire had 0% containment with 517 personnel from the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest actively working to suppress it
  • At time of writing, the fire has spread across 18,000 acres since July 4 and has closed portions of the Pacific Crest Trail between Route 4 and State Route 88
