According to an announcement from Northern California authorities, a woman was arrested after she was accused of starting a wildfire that has destroyed 144 buildings and promoted many evacuations
The California Department of Forestry and Fire protection says that the arrest of 30-year old Alexandra Souverneva is just one of more than 100 who have been accused of starting the fire

The Los Angeles Unified School District has seen a drop of 27,000 student since last year in 2020 which is a decline of nearly 6%
In addition to this alarming drop in enrollment, the district estimates that between 70% and 80% of the school staff are on track to have full vaccination by October 15

According to California, two new wildfires have been ignited in the state as of Sunday, September 5
The Aruba Fire, in San Diego County has burned across the southeast portion of the Rainbow community, according to Cal Fire
The second fire, the Bridge Fire has burned over 250 acres near Placer with a 0% containment as of September 5 and evacuations in progress

According to reports, a woman fell 50 feet to her death on Sunday morning while hiking a Mori Point, in Pacifica
After rescuers found her at the beach, she was pronounced dead at the scene

On September 2, Firefly Aerospace launched a rocket named the Alpha rocket from the central California coast at Vandenberg Space Force Base
At about 2.5 minutes of flight, Firefly reported that an “anomaly” had occurred during the first-stage ascent which led to the explosion of the rocket
The rocket was 95 feet tall and was designed to launch with up to 2,200 pounds of payload into low Earth orbit
