Following Power Outage in Santa Monica, 17 million gallons of sewage flood into the ocean

• On Monday, California officials have reported that a total of 17 million gallons of untreated sewage water had flooded into the Santa Monica Bay following a power outage
• This week, beaches all across Southern California have been forced to close due to the amount of sewage
• The spill into the Santa Monica Bay lasted for almost 8 hours and 6% of the water treatment facility’s daily load was released
