Burger King Loyalty Program launches in effort to increase sales  

• Resturaunt chain, Burger King had begun integrating their new loyalty program across all their U.S. stores with over half of their restaurants on track to offer rewards to customers by October
• The program is called “Royal Perks” and will give customers 10 “crowns” for every $1  spent at their restaurants
• Members of the program can obtain their points across the majority of the menu and will receive free daily perks, like upsizing drinks or fries

• The CDC in previous warnings recommended that travelers should not go on cruise ships because of the incidents of spreading infections last year in 2020
• Currently (as of today) the CDC is recommending that travelers get tested 1 to 3 days before their planned trip and 3 to 5 days after their trip

Burger King begins to shift its menu focus with a new chicken sandwich

• The Ch’King chicken sandwich from Burger King marks a point at which the company will shift their menu strategy
• In regards to what their new menu strategy is, they plan on taking their menu from promotional to foundation meaning they are focusing on making more quality food products that have better longevity

• A study conducted in the U.K. has looked at brain imaging before and after someone has had a coronavirus infection and they looked for any possible effects it had on the nervous system
• The study has also made a conclusion that the loss of brain tissue could have also resulted in Covid patients not being able to smell
