• A Nonprofit organization (Inland Coalition for Immigrant Justice) in the Inland Empire plans to use  $600,000 grant to help Street Food vendors who struggle to get a permit
• As many as 200 street food vendors have struggled receiving permits in order to operate their businesses and the grant of $2,000 to $7,000 can be a huge help

Diamond Valley Lake: Southern California’s largest reservoir filled to 80% capacity

• In Hemet California, Diamond Valley Lake is SoCal’s largest reservoir and currently it is at 80% capacity
• During this shortage in rainfall in Southern California, Diamond Valley Lake has been proving to be a key asset and this year, analysts believe that the state will see about 15% of the water supply in the lake which leaves it at 65% full

• The stadium project for Mt. San Jacinto was started back in March and just recently (on June 10), the foundation for the stadium was poured
• The stadium costs around $41 million and has features that include: 5,000 seats, field house, softball field, and sand volleyball courts
• The stadium is expected to host events as soon as Fall 2022

• At 1156 E. Grand Blvd. in Corona, a new mural has been introduced by the Corona Art Association that features themed paintings on a fence
• The Mural for the fence was created on Friday, April 30, and Sunday, May 2

Hemet man arrested for alleged Bear Spray road rage attack at Seal Beach

• Today (Tuesday) a 43 year old man from Hemet was arrested for allegedly attacking a driver in a road rage incident with bear spray
• The incident happened on June 25 in the early afternoon and there was multiple witnesses
• Those who were attacked by the man included three people including a child and all suffered some eye and skin irritation injuries

• The Diamond valley Lake was built 25 years ago and spans 2 miles wide and 4 ⅕ miles long with 800,000 acre feet of water
• The reservoir is one of the largest in California and SoCal needs as a result of the large water shortage in state

• In total, California state has collected $5 billion from aiding in rent relief to combat the homelessness issue  
• The funds for Federal aid have been slowly distributed to residents and through May 31, California has seen $490 million in requests for rental payment assistance but so far, only $32 million of that has been paid
• Around 2% of California residents who applied for rent assistance for the pandemic have received the funds they needed

• Currently the California assault weapons ban repeal has been blocked by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals
• This decision was made in the court case of Miller v. Bonta to hold the outcome for another case and in Rupp v. Bonta, it was called again for another stay order, to keep the resolution pending

• Just recently, California has reached an achievement of 70% resident eligibility for partial vaccination 
• The percentage is pushed by the multiple California Bay counties that have grown past the 80% mark  but vaccinations rates are very uneven across the state as many counties have much less
• The incentives such as the California vaccination lotteries have been reported to boost vaccinations by 22%

The Center Against Sexual Assault of Southwest Riverside County is now called REACH. 

The announcement for this change was made during the organization’s Annual Fundraising Event: The Hearts of Gold Valentine Gala.

The general mission of the organization has not change materially, except they now brand the organization differently and highlight the diversity of service offerings, clients they serve and their ability to serve victims of trauma, including child abuse, sexual assault and human trafficking. 

The organization utilizes both an educational preventative model and offers post trauma services including advocacy, counseling, victim/survivor services and other options.

Formerly C.A.S.A. or Center Against Sexual Assault, REACH has been a critical part of the Inland Empire community for decades.
