• For the second time in a week, yesterday (Wednesday) California’s workplace regulators have changed their position with withdrawing pending mask regulations while they consider rules that more closely align with Newsom’s promise
• Exceptions where everyone must remain masked include public transit, indoor school classes, in health care and correctional facilities, and in places like homeless shelters and cooling centers

• Today an analysis was released projecting that the recall election for Newsom will cost a minimum of $215 million 
• UC Berkeley’s Institute of Governmental Studies conducted a poll that showed that only 36% of registered voters in California would remove Newsom from office

• Recent data has shown that California is currently leading the country in the largest decrease in college enrollments for Spring 2021
• This data has been widely been believed to be caused by a decline in community college student numbers as the pandemic has caused struggle
• California’s overall community college and university count has decreased by 123,000 students

• In a new pair of settlements that provide $2 million+ in fees to lawyers who challenged California restrictions to violate religious freedom, California has agreed to lift restrictions
• The other day(Tuesday), the deal was approved that churches would not be restricted more than retail establishments
• Despite this settlement being passed, it has very little practical impact as the Supreme court took limits off indoor worship in April and all restrictions are planned to lift in June

• Workplace regulators in California have been considering ending the mask mandate if all employees in a room have been fully vaccinated (all shots) against COVID-19 
• In less than 2 weeks, California is planned to reopen and eliminate the mask mandate and social distancing mandates for those vaccinated 
• For business and workplace regulators, this mandate lift does not extend to the workplace just yet

• In order to help fight the Gov. Gavin Newsom recall, California’s largest state worker union approved a $1 million donation yesterday (Wednesday)
• The contribution of $1 million will go to the SEIU California State Council which oversees 17 unions
