Ohio marijuana capacity could be expanded by law proposal

• Proposed legislation in the Ohio Senate could expand the amount of marijuana that can be grown for the state’s medical-marijuana program and increase the number of places able to sell it
• The proposal would allow level one cultivators to expand their growing operations from 25,000 square feet to 75,000 square feet, and
• Level two cultivators will have their square footage changed from 3,000 square feet to 20,000 square feet

• Under legislation proposed in the Ohio Senate, a concealed weapons permit not be needed and no longer require individuals to notify police officers that they are carrying a concealed weapon
• The measure allows individuals the option of keeping the permit and this would allow gun owners to carry a concealed weapon in other states that recognize those permits

• With the failure of the new Texas Voting laws to be passed, the Governor of the state Greg Abbot revives Republican efforts in passing the new laws 
• In a special session that begins Thursday (tomorrow), he is instructing Texas lawmakers to revise the laws over the next 30 days

• Three of Ohio’s electric companies which is owned by Akron-based FirstEnergy Corp will reign the money collected from a “tainted energy bill
• Toledo Edison, Cleveland Electric Illuminating companies, and Ohio Edison will start crediting customers a total of $27.5 million
• Those residential customers who use more than 1,000 kilowatts in electricity next month will be refunded $8.95 from Ohio Edison, $13.19 from Toledo Edison, and $16.18 from Cleveland Electric
