A New Vaccine Incentive announced by Governor Gavin Newsom

• For this new incentive for those who receive the Covid-19 vaccine, Gov. Gavin Newsom has announced that the state will have another lottery 
• The prize for winners of the lottery will be travel packages for vacation destinations 
• The packages will be to 5 different places in California and come in different people capacities
• The capacities may be 2-4 and the locations will be in: Anaheim, San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles, Palm Springs

• Many cities and towns in SoCal are expected to reach High temperatures (excluding certain coastal city areas)
• The Santa Barbara County area has concerns with fire danger expected to be in effect this Monday night through Wednesday and SoCal Edison is now considering on whether to shut off power to prevent fires
• San Joaquin and Sacramento are expected to reach 100+ degree temperatures (Fahrenheit)

• Current California emergency workplace health and safety regulations, require that workers wear masks when indoors, except when a worker is alone in a room or is eating or drinking but must be at least six feet away from other workers and outside air supply has been maximized

• Almost ⅓ of all California Restaurants have been permanently closed and at least ⅔ of workers have temporarily lost their jobs at the beginning of the pandemic more than a year ago
• Industry leaders have expressed their fear for the lack of labor available as more establishments begin to reopen

• Energy regulators here in California have said that the state is much more prepared to avoid the rotating blackouts that the state experienced last summer
• California officials have said that they have acquired 3,500 megawatts of capacity ahead of the hot summer that threatens to increase the power grid demand
• The increased capacity also includes an additional 2,000 megawatts of batteries which are designed to store energy generated from the state’s renewable energy sources
