• A social science teacher at Whitney High School in Rocklin, CA, i being investigated after students were asked a politically biased question on a test
• The test question read, “A group of complete idiots is:” with the answers being: a)KKK, b) “All of Florida”, c) Fox News, d) Texans
• A student posted the image on twitter where it received a lot of attention with hundreds of commenters outraged 

Recent survey shows number of homeless tents in Sacramento have doubled since 2019

• Since the last time officials conducted a homeless census in the beginning of 2019, the number of tents across Sacramento County has doubled 
• In January of 2019, researched estimated that there were 5,570 homeless people living in the county in tents, vehicles, and shelters
• A research team from CSU conducted a surrey that indicated the number of tents had increased by double at least with 10,000

COVID rate in California is twice that of Florida

• The Coronavirus rate in California is double that levels of Florida, despite all the mask mandates and recommendations that the state has to prevent the spread of the virus
• According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, cases in California are no longer declining and the rate is increasing rapidly
• The vaccination rate in California is 62% but has higher COVID transmission rates than Texas at 54% and Florida at 60%

California group asks SD County Judge to stop state mask mandate for schools

• An Advocacy group that represents parents against the mask mandates in school plead to a judge in a North County courtroom on November 8
• In the courtroom, the group asked the judge to stop the state from enforcing the mask mandate for kids 

Grocery shopper stabbed by security guard over face masks, says Santa Monica Police

• According to California police, a security guard stabbed a shopper at Vons in Santa Monica after a fight broke out over the man’s refusal to wear a face mask
• The man entered the store without a mask on November 8 around 10:30pm and “started to cause a scene” when employees urged him to wear a mask or leave, the police said in a news release
• The guard pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed the man repeatedly, police said.

• Tesla filed an application with the Texas Public Utility Commission to sell electricity in the state as the company’s big battery build-out in Angleton, Texas comes online

• On August 26, Peloton reported that revenue growth in their 4th fiscal quarter dropped off dramatically
• The company posted a bigger-than-expected loss as costs from its treadmill recall mounted and also offered up a disappointing revenue outlook for its 2022 first quarter

Ford F-150 pickup truck production cut due to chip shortage

• Due to the ongoing semiconductor shortage, Ford is cutting production of another one of their vehicles, their F-150 pickup truck along with 2 others starting August 30
• The two other vehicles experiencing the cut in production are the Ford Edge and Lincoln Nautilus crossovers
• Ford has been impacted particularly hard by the lack of chips, losing about 50% of its planned production in the second quarter.

• Supporters of this new law have said that balloon releases have a large environmental impact and threaten birds, marine animals, and other wildlife 
• Violators may face a fine of $100 and this law will be in effect in November

Bear shot after California resident acted in “self-defense” after an attack in their home

• Last Thursday, The El Dorado County Sheriff’s office resorts that they had a call about a bear threat in a town named Meyers near Lake Tahoe
• The resident supposedly shot the bear out of self-defense after it had attacked them inside their home
• The day after (Friday) the bear was discovered and had been “gravely wounded” according to the sheriff’s office
• An investigation of the event has determined that there was no criminal activity during the event 

A Drive-by shooting has occurred near a Hooters in Long Beach

• At around 7:30 pm, a shooting occurred near the Pike Outlets outside a Hooters restaurant where two adults and a teen have been wounded
• Currently detectives are investigating the shooting as it could be gang-related and 2 have been arrested

• Gov. Tony Evers refuses to rule out the possibility of vetoing the entire state budget which is being written by a “Republican-controlled legislature committee” currently

• The new polluter law blocks individuals and companies who have not and will not clean up their past mines from starting new ones

• In Austin Texas, Texas Democrats have demonstrated a walkout in the state House of Representatives on last Sunday and forced Republicans to abandon the midnight deadline
• The Texas Bill was a restrictive voting bill that would limit those who would be eligible to vote which includes an ID requirement among other things
