Small family and pet found dead in Sierra National Forest
A Northern California family of three along with their pet dog were reported missing and later found dead on August 17 on a hiking trail in the Sierra National Forest
The family of three was identified as John Gerrish, Ellen Chung, their 1-year-old daughter, Muji, and their dog
Authorities have seen no clear cause of death which caused them to treat the area like a “hazmat scene” as it could be related to carbon monoxide
Some fear a toxic algae bloom which cannot be rectified even by boiling water.
