A record-breaking amount of container ships stuck off California coast

  • California’s two largest ports (Los Angeles and Long Beach) now hold 44 freight ships which is the highest number stopped since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic according to the Marine Exchange of Southern California
  • This long queue is reportedly a result of the labor shortage, purchase surges, and COVID-19 related disruptions

All National Forests temporarily closed by USDA Forest Service

  • The USDA Forest Service for the Pacific Southwest Region announced that from Aguust 31 to September 17, all National Forests in California will be closes
  • This closure has been made in order to provide better public and firefighter safety
