Los Angeles County reports more than 10,000 cases in 1 week

With the rapid spread of the delta variant , Los Angeles County has reported that they have seen more than 10,000 cases (during the week of 7/19/2021); this level has not been recorded since March
According to health officials, the unvaccinated population is at the highest risk which pressured them to reinforce restrictions

Further evacuations prompted California fails to contain wildfire

A fire in Lake Tahoe, California has now blocked more roads and prompted officials to announce further evacuations
As of 7/20, the Tamarack Fire had 0% containment with 517 personnel from the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest actively working to suppress it
At time of writing, the fire has spread across 18,000 acres since July 4 and has closed portions of the Pacific Crest Trail between Route 4 and State Route 88
