California inches closer to normalcy as COVID vaccinations increase
- Coronavirus cases and deaths across the country have plummeted to the lowest point in months as reopenings soar
- Los Angeles County now has the fewest restrictions since the pandemic began
- On Wednesday, there were less than 300, which is a 98% drop
- While 41% of the nation’s adults are fully vaccinated, in San Francisco it’s 51% for those 16 and older, according to the San Francisco Department of Public Health
California Cypress College union claims firing of anti-cop professor has a “chilling effect” on workplace safety
- A faculty union in California has accused Cypress College of failing to be anti racist after it fired an anti-police professor who condemned a student over his presentation on taking down cancel culture
- They also claimed that the college had placed minority faculty members at risk of becoming “targets of White supremacist organizations”
- The 19 year old student, Braden Ellis defended the TV shows “Cops” and “Paw Patrol,” as well as food products like Aunt Jemima syrup and Uncle Ben’s rice
- The professor took his characterization of police as good guys as an issue and then stated she would be in more danger if she contacted police during an armed home invasion and cops responded
California aligns mask guidelines with CDC
- The CDC and the State of California have recently updated their guidelines in the past week, allowing those vaccinated to go without a mask in public more often
- If you are vaccinated, you are not required to wear a face mask at small gatherings both indoors and outdoors, but state health experts say non-vaccinated people should
- The CDC and state guidelines say fully vaccinated people don’t need to wear masks while outdoors, but say everyone, regardless of vaccine status, should wear a mask in large crowded events like concerts or sports games
