California Ballot will include new Sports Betting Initiative
- A new initiative will allow sports betting at horse-racing tracks and tribal casinos in California to be qualified for the November 2022 Ballot
- For the initiative, 1.4 million signatures were submitted and the secretary for state reported that counties verified enough for the measure to qualify
New Warnings from the State about rolling blackouts and other power outage events
- Despite the improved statewide preparation for handling energy outages, the extreme heat this summer will still cause more blackouts
- Last year in August, more than 800,000 homes and businesses had lost power over two days during a widespread heat wave that affected California and nearby states
- To prepare for this year, energy regulators have added 3,500 megawatts of capacity which includes 2,000 megawatts of 4-hour lithium-ion batteries
