Ballot measure could increase construction rate of dams and other water projects

  • A measure known as the “Water Infrastructure Funding Act of 2022” is expected to increase the construction of dams, desalination plants, and other water projects if it gets enough signatures
  • Currently, the measure needs 997,132 signatures by registered voters by April 29 to qualify for the November 2022 statewide ballot

7-Eleven employee frightened by bear wandering into store

  • An employee at the Olympic Valley 7-Eleven convenience store named Rachelle Ducusin captured footage of a bear rummaging through the entrance of the store
  • According to Ducusin, she had spotted the bear earlier in her night shift as it had gone through the store’s trash cans and the bear followed her back into the store
  • Emergency services arrived shortly after she dialed 911 for help and scared the animal off with rubber bullets before anyone was injured
