California recall election could cost the state $300 million
- After Governor Gavin Newsom survived the recall attempt, state legislators have said that the failed effort at removing Newsom as Governor was too costly and needs further review
- Lawmakers in California agreed to spend a minimum of $276 million in the most recent state budget in order to cover recall costs but many elections officials have estimated that cost is closer to $300 million
- Assemblyman Marc Berman has said, “That money could be spent on housing, on homelessness, on combating climate change, forest fires, early childhood education, you name it,”
Additional Placer County city ranked in best places to live in America in 2021
- According to a new ranking by the Money magazine, the city of Rocklin in Placer County was ranked #43 on the annual list of high-performance schools and quality of life for 2021
- Over the last 10 years, the magazine reported that the city of Rocklin’s population has increased over 20%
- The magazine evaluated cities that had low crime risk, a diverse population between 25,000 and 500,000 people, and an affordable cost of living
New San Diego restaurants added to Michelin California Guide
- For Michelin’s 2021 California guide, 8 restaurants have been selected and 5 of which come from San Diego County
- The 5 San Diego restaurants are: Callie, Menya Ultra, Fort Oak, Little Frenchie, and Animae
- The 3 other restaurants come from Orange County which are: Knife Pleat, Heritage Barbecue, and Khan Saab
