San Jose Police cannot respond to 911 calls due to a staffing shortage
- According to a local report in San Jose, Police said that officers could not respond to an illegal street show because the department did not have any resources available
- The illegal street show happened on October 30 in downtown San Jose near 6th and St. John Streets
California court ruling says drug companies not liable for the opioid crisis
- A California state judge ruled on November 1 that 4 drug companies cannot be held liable for the state’s opioid crisis
- The drug companies are Allergan, Endo, Johnson & Johnson, and Teca which were accused of using misleading marketing to push up the sale of prescription opioids
- Judge Peter J. Wilson said, “The Court finds that plaintiffs have failed to prove an actionable public nuisance for which defendants, or any of them, are legally liable,”
American Airlines Flight attended assaulted by California man
- A 20-year-old California man named Brian Hsu is facing criminal charges coming from the violent assault of an American Airlines flight attendant
- The flight was scheduled from New York to Orange County, California but was diverted to Denver after the alleged assault
- According to court documents, Hsu struck the attendant in the head multiple times between two separate instances
