SoCal home prices jump 20% in April, which sets another record
- Home prices in Southern California have shown an all time high in April
- The Six-county region’s median home price increased 20.2% year over year to a record $655,000 which is $25,000 more than the previous median record in March
- Southern California has experienced a 20.2% leap and is the first year-over-year increase since December 2013
- April home sales jumped 86.2% year over year with a total of 25,857 transactions, compared with 13,889 in April 2020
Construction of new L.A. turbo-charged subway breaks ground during pandemic
- A group of politicians stood at a site on Wilshire Boulevard just west of the 405 Freeway to break ground on the final leg of a subway
- This new subway will eventually be able to take riders from downtown L.A. into the Westside
- Los Angeles has dreamed of the idea of mass transit under their most iconic boulevard for decades but have faced neighborhood opposition over crime and violence
- Because of the pandemic, the Metro saw a 70% drop in ridership and they used this time to push forward several projects including this one (The Wilshire subway)
