Aging Dams in the US could be fixed from new bill 

  • Lawmakers in Congress have just recently introduced a bill that could put billions of dollars into upgrading and fixing our nation’s dams
  • The Bill has been named the Twenty-First Century Dams Act and has been introduced by Democratic US  Representative Annie Juster of New Hampshire and the proposal would be to invest almost $26 billion into repairing and upgrading the country’s 90,000 dams

Short Term Rental Registry has been vetoed by Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee

  • Governor Dan McKee of Rhode Island has vetoed legislation that would require that property wonders register with the state before a short-term rental listing and would have included online lodging websites and sites like airbnb
  • Thursday (Yesterday) in his veto message, he said “I cannot support this bill because it will create additional burden for property owners
