  • For a new car today, the average price is around $40,800 which is a 4.9% increase from 2020
  • Used vehicles have increased to more than 21% which is $25,500 from $20,900 in 2020
  • Car dealers are paying more for used cars meaning people can receive a higher trade-in or a lower than market price lease buyout

British artist claims that physical art galleries will be outlasted by NFTs

  • A famous contemporary artist in Britian, Damien Hirst has claimed that art galleries are disappearing much faster than NFTs
  • In an interview, Hirst said, “I just think anything that looks good and feels good, and makes you feel good, you know, it’s good art…It doesn’t have to be in a gallery.”
  • The artist has his own NFT art collection named “The currency” which contains 10,000 NFTs at $2,000 each where the eventual owners can choose to trade it in for the physical creation

J&J expects their global sales to reach $2.5 billion from Covid vaccine for 2021

  • In the first quarter of this year, J&J’s global sales for their Covid vaccine were $164 million; this is on track to reach $2.5 billion by the end of the year

Target to feature first Ulta Beauty “mini shops” in August

  • In order to attract new customers, Target will soon open the first Uta Beauty “mini shops in August
  • The small shops are going to feature more than 50 premium beauty brands like Clinique, MAC Cosmetics, and Ariana Grande
  • Target believes that by placing a brightly colored beauty mini beauty store inside their building, they think that they can deepen customer loyalty and encourage store trips

Chip shortage has caused GM to halt production of their largest pickup truck

  • Most of GM’s North American production of their largest full-size pickup trucks will be stopped due to the semiconductor chip shortage
  • As of 7/21, the automaker has confirmed their plans to cut production for their Michigan, Indiana, and Mexico plants that make the GMC Sierra and Chevorlet Silverado
