Production issues cause used car prices to remain at high prices
- Legacy automakers like Ford and General Motors have been forced to cut production of vehicles due to the semiconductor chip shortage this year
- Ernie Garcia, the CEO of Carvana has said that the high used car prices will not start to fall until automakers can get production back to normal levels
- In the second quarterof 2021, that average transaction price for a used car was $25,410 which is a 21% year-over-year increase
