Nation of Navajo has lifted certain Covid restrictions on their reservation

  • Jonathen Nez, the Navajo Nation President has signed legislation today (Tuesday) to withdraw an order that closed the reservation to outside visitors
  • Several of the Covid restrictions have been lifted for the tribal parks that will allow them to reopen at 50% capacity along with safety protocols
  • As early as Thursday, schools will eventually be able to reopen under a required safety plan 

After a veto error, Alaska oil-wealth Fund transfer will proceed 

  • From the state’s oil-wealth fund, Alaska governor Mike Dunleavy has allowed a $4 billion transfer to the fund’s constitutionally protected principal
  • Originally, the governor of Alaska planned to veto the principal but now retracts his intentions

Connecticut could receive millions in Federal Climate Fund

  • Officials for the state of Connecticut have predicted that the new climate change legislation will put the state in a position to receive millions of dollars towards expensive resiliency projects 
  • In order to help municipalities identify and plan for projects such as “green infrastructure”, the $30 million dollars will be added to the state’s budget
